Service Technician

Looking for a solid mechanical role in Rydalmere? We are hiring Service Technicians to dismantle, service, and rebuild heavy locomotive components.

• Solid Pay Rate: Earn $38.00 – $45.00 ph (Casual) based on your hands-on trade experience and skill level.

Duties:

• Strip down, service, and rebuild heavy locomotive components and mechanical assemblies efficiently.

• Clean, overhaul, and test mechanical parts to ensure optimal operational performance on the bench.

• Read and follow mechanical diagrams, service manuals, and workshop job sheets accurately.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery to complete heavy overhaul tasks safely.

• Maintain strict workshop safety protocols, standard procedures, and keep a clean workspace.

Skills & Experience:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate preferred, or solid hands-on Mechanical Trades Assistant experience.

• Proven practical experience in mechanical assembly, component strip-down, and heavy overhaul work.

• Strong mechanical aptitude; candidates with vehicle maintenance hobbies are highly regarded.

• A reliable, practical, and safety-first attitude on the workshop floor.

• Ability to pass standard pre-employment checks and background screening tests.
